Bishop Museum - Hawaiian Hall & Pacific Hall Renovation

*2009 Historic Preservation Honor Award from Historic Hawaii Foundation *

The renovation of three floors of Bishop Museum’s Hawaiian Hall included refurbishing of finishes and installing new electrical, air conditioning, and fire protection systems.  Work also included construction of an enclosed courtyard addition and elevator for handicap access.  The hall’s newly renovated interiors represent state of the art in museum design with subdued LED lamps and a modern air conditioning system.  Ingenious design included hiding the fire sprinkler system in the wrought iron grillwork.

From 2006-2013 Bishop Museum undertook a comprehensive, multi-phased renovation of our historic, Hawaiian Hall gallery complex. We selected Constructors Hawaii Inc. to serve as the general contractors for the project, and they did a superb job. It was a very complex project with a large number of partners and a lot of custom work and detailing, but Constructors Hawaii handled everything masterfully. We couldn’t be more pleased with how the renovation turned out.
