Meet Our Team
When: Started with the company in 1986 working in the office and field during summer breaks, before graduating from the University of California at Berkeley in 1989 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering.
Where: 25 years of Hawaii construction experience building healthcare facilities, historical renovations, public housing, restaurants, retail, offices, and educational facilities.
Why: Colin is committed to exceeding client expectations in communication and value. He works hard every day to pay for his kids’ IKF karate classes, where he regularly gets beaten up as their punching and kicking bag!
What: Executive Vice President
When: Started with Constructors Hawaii Inc. in 2004 after graduating from UH Manoa with a B.S. in Civil Engineering in 2000 and learning as a project engineer for Nan Inc and Dick Pacific Construction Company.
Where: David’s focus is on healthcare facilities, which range from clinics to surgery centers to hospital renovations. He’s also experienced estimating and managing a wide range of public and private projects from renovations to new construction.
Why: David applied his years of knowledge and experience to gut and renovate his own home during nights and weekends. More recently, his off-hours are better spent enjoying quality time with his wife and new baby girl.
What: Vice President and General Superintendent of Oahu Operations
When: Since 1972, the year the company was founded! Floyd started as an apprentice for Constructors Hawaii Inc. and quickly advanced through the ranks to become General Superintendent in 1990. Floyd brings over 43 years of construction experience to the company.
Where: Floyd is responsible for the field operation of all ongoing projects on Oahu. As General Superintendent, Floyd assists all the project foremen with project planning and on-site coordination. He is also responsible for managing man power, materials, and equipment among all Oahu projects.
Why: After 40 years of creating construction success for Constructors Hawaii, many would be tired and slow down, but not Floyd. He recharges himself with surfing, fishing, and traveling.
What: General Superintendent of Big Island Operations
When: Since the company’s first day in existence – 43 years and counting! Lester joined Constructors Hawaii Inc. in 1972 as a carpenter apprentice and advanced through the ranks of working foreman, foreman, and into his current leadership role.
Where: A lifelong resident of Hilo, Lester is a well-known and respected member of the island’s construction industry.
Why: Lester thrives on taking care of all clients on his home island of Hawaii. Once the needs of his projects have been fully met, Lester heeds the call of the ocean on his surfboard or paddleboard!
What: Project Manager
When: Travis started at Constructors Hawaii in 2013 and graduated with a BS in Civil Engineering from Loyola Marymount University.
Where: He applies his new insights and technology experience as one of three project managers.
Why: Travis returned home with his engineering education to serve Hawaii clients and to enjoy relaxing at beach BBQ’s on the weekend.
